Community Bulletin
OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2009
Produced at Tisbury by PC Mark Steele.

Tisbury

Incidents reported this month include the following:

  • Several vehicle-related crimes were reported in the Donhead area on October 15th. Among them, in Donhead St Andrew, a male was seen during the early hours attempting to break into a vehicle. The police were called and the area searched. As a result, the male was arrested for various theft and drug-related offences.
  • Several items of electrical equipment were stolen in and around Tisbury during the month. Theft of plant equipment and diesel fuel were also prevalent in nearby parishes.
  • Guests in a Hindon hotel ran up a bill and left without paying.

Personnel

Our section commander, Inspector David Minty, met his new counterpart in Shaftesbury, Inspector Shawn Whitley. The meeting was a further step in strengthening the partnership between neighbouring police forces - a feature of particular benefit to rural communities.

PCSO Kim Maffey has returned to light duties following her operation and PC Martin Emery continues to cover while PC Andy Fell is on deployment elsewhere.

Community Safety

The next meeting of the Tisbury Community Safety Partnership will be on Tuesday 1st December in Tisbury at the Elizabeth Hall, from 4pm until c. 5.30pm. The guest speaker is from the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust, a registered charity that provides a home security service for the elderly, disadvantaged and vulnerable.

Drop-in Centres

Subject to operational demands, the next Drop-in at Tisbury Sports Centre will be on Friday 4th December from 11am until 1pm, when a member of the NPT will welcome discussion on any policing matters. A further Drop-in at the Sports Centre is scheduled for Friday 8th January.
