CHANGE OF SECTION
COMMANDER AT TISBURY
PS Dave Cullop has now left Tisbury for pastures
new in Corsham where he is taking on the role of Sector Inspector.
He has asked me to include the following message in the bulletin.
I hope you will all join us in wishing him well.
"I am extremely pleased to be able
to report that during the last 12-months reported crime levels
have seen a significant 20% reduction in the Tisbury & Mere
Police Area. In total 335 offences have been investigated and
currently 27.76% have been detected. There have been very welcome
decreases in the offence categories of Violent Crime, down
by 50%; Burglary to outbuildings, down by 39% and Criminal
Damage, down by 30%. Long may it continue!"
"
After serving you for more than five enjoyable years I am moving-on
to a new post in Corsham & Calne. My replacement will be PS
Andy Noble. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you
all for the tremendous support you have given me and my team of
dedicated officers. I am convinced that one of reasons our community
remains such a safe place to live, work and play is due to the
ongoing commitment and support of a locally delivered police service."
THE HISTORY OF THE WILTSHIRE CONSTABULARY
Many of you may not know but the Wiltshire Constabulary
was the first county force to be created in the country. To celebrate
this fact a book has been published. ‘The Oldest
and The Best’ catalogues the history of the Wiltshire Constabulary.
The Book is available at the tiny price of £4. All of this
money will go to Wiltshire Police charities including the Air Ambulance
and the Bobby Scheme.
I haven’t seen the book yet but am assured that it is well
worth the meagre price of £4.00. If you would like a copy
please let me know and I will order some in.
