Crime figures prepared by PC Jerry Wilkins
HOT WEATHER - GOOD OPPORTUNITY FOR THIEVES!
Now that the weather has turned hot and sticky and
we are all trying to get a cool breeze flowing through our houses
to keep us cool it would appear that burglars and thieves are gleefully
rubbing their grubby little mits.
Reading through the crime figures above there are several reported
crimes that really should not have happened. I'm sorry to say this
but the days when you could leave your front door unlocked and windows
open safe in the knowledge that crime doesn't happen out here in
the countryside have long gone. The opportunist thief is never far
away. If you do have your doors and windows open please be aware
that your house and property are more vulnerable to opportunist
thieves. If you do leave handbags in your car (sorry to pick on
the ladies) it is likely to get stolen. If your handbag is that
big that you can't take it with you might I suggest that you perhaps
leave the kitchen sink at home! I know I will probably get shot
for saying that but all I am trying to do is protect your property
and prevent the misery, anger and inconvenience this type of theft
causes.
