WHO ARE YOUR LOCAL POLICE?
Sadly PC Paul CLARK (sometimes known as 'The
Silver Fox') retired at the end of February and has moved on to
something involving more sociable hours. Paul held the distinction
of not only being the oldest PC at the Station but also the one
with the fullest head of hair! We all wish him well for the future.
His old beat area of Ansty, Newtown, Semley and Wardour has been
incorporated into other beats as set out below. You will also note
the arrival of three new names to the section. PC Paul WILSON
has joined us from Wilton where he has been for several years, WPC
Lucy DEAKIN arrives fresh from the hustle and bustle of Salisbury
and PC Pete ROBINS escapes back into the real world from
the training department at Police Headquarters.

So there you have it every village has it's own Community
Beat Officer. If you would like to talk to your local beat officer
about a local problem or even see him or her in the flesh please
ring Tisbury or Mere Police Stations. If we are all out on patrol
or dealing with incidents the answer machine will be on. Providing
that it is not urgent and can wait please leave a message and you
will be called back. If it can't wait then you have two further
options. If it is an emergency or someone is in danger or a crime
is being committed ring '999' immediately. If it is not urgent
but you would like us to know about something straight away then
ring the Police Control Room on 01722-411444. An operator
can contact us on the radio and one of us can deal with whatever
problem has arisen.
Please be aware that although we would all love to
work non-stop, 24 hours a day seven days a week we are in fact only
allowed to work 8 hours a day and we must take two days off for
every five we work. We are also forced to go on courses, assist
in other areas, are made to stay at home when we are not well and
are even told to take holidays! But don't worry it's all worked
out so that someone is on duty every day
