An online parish clerk in a village is not appointed by the church or by the parish council. The individual, or perhaps group, is an unpaid volunteer, who gathers historical information, including genealogy, for distribution to those interested. No charge is made, but commercial bodies or functions are not included. In the case of Swallowcliffe, a considerable amount of information is held.
