- Dog Attacked On Semley Common -

Earlier in the month; we took a report from a Semley resident. Whilst out walking his dog on Semley Common, his dog was attacked by another dog!

Police do not normally deal with Dog Vs Dog incidents [RSPCA Do] we can get involved if you the owner[s] are not showing control over their Dog.

We can and will act if required. A Tisbury Resident has recently [Within the last month] had his dog re-homed due to not controlling his dog properly.

- Zeals Play park and Recreation -

Zeals in generally a nice place to visit. Members of the community are welcoming, nice to speak to, interesting people. However, there are a select few; who our going against this!

It has been flagged to our attention that, Drink and potential Drugs misuse is occurring at Zeals Recreation. We will be carrying out random spot checks to tackle this issue!

Also, not directly linked to Zeals Play Park, Westfields. However, in that general area. Youths, who have now reached that age, where they are collected there first set of motorised wheels. Appear to be congregating at this location of a late evening. We are not here to stop you meeting your friends. However, bring to your attention that local residents get annoyed with the sound of several Mopeds right out side their door step. [I can not stand the sound of one, Yet alone a few!!]

- Lower Recreation Ground Tisbury -

Unfortunately, at sometime over the past fortnight a young lad was injured on the Gyrospiral part of the play equipment.  All the play equipment is now being inspected, we would like to ask that in the meantime that notices are adhered to. Which means ALL persons stay out of the play area until the equipment is confirmed as being safe; at which point the notices will be removed.  We are aware that certain persons have been removing the warning notices! Politely, we ask them to refrain from such mindless actions.

- Anti Social Behaviour Tisbury -

A commonly reported issue is of Anti-Social Behaviour [ASB] and littering, this has been addressed by targeted patrols and the seizure of alcohol from underage teenagers. Wherever possible we are discouraging large gatherings of youths, as we recognize that these groups can sometimes be intimidating to the community. If residents witness or feel that ASB is occurring please contact us. [Details on bottom of newsletter]

We contact Parents if their child[ren] come to our attention, whilst we are on patrol. However, could we please ask that parents to assist us; in making your area a better place to live? By asking yourself the question: “Where are my kids tonight? and what are are they doing?

ASB can affect the quality of life for residents in the community; we want to send out a clear message that it will not be tolerated! Whilst the majority of our youths are well mannered and considerate, a small minority are causing problems with late night ‘parties’ at Tisbury train station. We are working in conjunction with the British Transport Police [BTP] in order to resolve this issue. Incidents of ASB at the train station can also be reported to the British Transport Police on 0800 405040.

- No need for speed! -

Groups of youths have been riding, mini motorcycles and unregistered scramblers around the field adjacent to George sixth recreation ground in Tisbury. These vehicles are not designed for road use! some people have wrongly assumed that they can be used legally on the roads or in public areas, they cannot legally be use on any highway including any road to which the public has access or car parks , footpaths or bridleways.

We have also received reports of motor vehicles speeding up and down Tisbury High Street! Also Weaveland Road, Tisbury and Coronation Drive, Donhead St Mary.

We will use section 59 powers to tackle these problems. This means those driving motor vehicles anti socially are liable to receive a warning and if warned twice in 12months their vehicle is seized! The section 59 goes against driver/rider and vehicle.
